Gary E. Minar, age 69, of Clarence, Iowa, died in his home on April 5, 2010. Gary was born June 20, 1940, in Linn County, Iowa, to Stanley and Audrey (Harris) Minar. Gary married Mavis Browne on May 3, 1963, in Wyoming, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, Iowa, with Pastor Lynn Butterbrodt officiating. Burial will follow at Clarence Cemetery with graveside military rites. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 7, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Gary served in the Air Force for 4 years and worked for Land o Lakes Feed in Clarence for 20 years. He was a member of Clarence American Legion and a former EMT in Clarence. Gary Loved Woodworking and playing pool. He is survived by wife Mavis; daughter Roxann (Dean) Pospisil of Mt. Vernon; sons Rex of Clarence, Darrin (Renae) of LaMars, and Brett (Melissa) of Lowden; 13 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
