Genevieve Mae Huffman, age 86 of Lowden, passed away Tuesday morning, February 19, 2013 at the Wheatland Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden on Thursday February 21, 2013 at 10:30 A.M with Pastor Stephen Stepp officiating. Burial will follow at the Van Horn Cemetery in Lowden. Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 20, 2013 from 4-7 P.M at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Genevieve was born on September 26, 1926 to Oscar Newton and Golda (Hayes) Hollingsworth in Olin, Iowa. She married Raymond Huffman on September 6, 1945 in Olin. He died in 1987. Genevieve was a homemaker along with working at the Clarence and Wheatland Nursing Homes. Survivors include sons, Robert of Mt. Vernon, Raymond (Dorothy) of Cedar Rapids, and Roger (Pearl) of Lowden; daughters, Millie (Wilbert) Muhs of Lowden and Mary Huffman of Cedar Rapids; 9 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 4 brothers; and a son, Rudolph. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
