George J. Morden, age 96 of Lowden, passed away at the Clarence Nursing Home on Saturday July 29, 2023. Funeral services will be held on Friday August 4 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden with Rev. Daniel Redhage officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday August 3 from 4-7 PM at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery with military honors.

George was born July 16, 1927 in Tipton, Iowa to William and Latta Griffis Morden. He married Eunice Hein on December 7, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden. She passed away October 19, 2015.

Survivors include his sons Gene (Melba) of Burleson, TX, John (Carole) of St. Louis, MO, Jerry (Nadeen) of Camanche; daughters Julie (Bill) Knoche of Lowden and Georgette Wurster of Valparaiso, IN; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; and a grandchild.

George served his country honorably in the Korean War in the Army. He was a truck driver all his life and truly loved his wife and the game of golf. George liked traveling to the Ozarks and had quite a sense of humor, as he was always joking around.
