Gladys Scheeper, age 83, of Lowden, Iowa, died February 11, 2010, at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home. Gladys was born July 30, 1926, in Lowden, Iowa, to Emil Stolte and Emma (Meier) Stolte. Gladys married George Scheeper November 25, 1966, at Lowden. He died June 28, 1989. Gladys donated her body to the Anatomy Department University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church-Lowden. Inurnment will be at a later date in Trinity Church Cemetery. Arrangements with Chapman Funeral Home-Clarence. Gladys was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she had been very active in various organizations, including the ladies aid and choir. She had taught Sunday School for 32 years. She is survived by her brother Larry (Virjean) Stolte of Lowden and sister Luverne (Bob) Fiala of Goeleta, California. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother, and 3 sisters.
