Obituary

Glen Casad, age 90, of Wheatland, Iowa, died February 19, 2011, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House-Bettendorf. Glen was born September 16, 1920, in Gilbert, Iowa, to Roscoe and Bessie (Petersen) Casad. Glen married Delora Wilms on May 8, 1943, in Maquoketa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at St. Paul's United Church Of Christ in Wheatland, Iowa, with Reverend John Cofield, Reverend Eric Bentrott, and Pastor Patrick Bentrott officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 pm on Monday, February 21, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. A memorial fund has been established. Glen grew up on a farm near GrandMound, he served in the Marines during World War II and later owned and operated Wheatland Auto Body Shop. He enjoyed coon hunting, golf, and spending time with his grandchildren. Glenn is survived by wife Delora; daughters: Judy (Owen) Boedeker of Wheatland, Jane Bentrott of Maquoketa, Janet Oberg of Naples, Florida; son Max (Neva) Casad of Dewitt; 9 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Glen was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Neoma Block, Virginia Rock, Shirley Lichtenstein, and Pat Willer; and a brother Ed Casad.
