Harold "Lee" Schweiger, age 67 of Bettendorf, passed away on Tuesday February 27, 2018 at his home. Memorial services will be held on Monday March 5 at 11:00 A.M at Bettendorf Christian Church with Reverend Karl Roberts and Reverend Joe Ledvina officiating. Burial will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 until service time at the church.
Lee was born on December 10, 1950 to Wilbert and Eilleen (Moll) Schweiger in Gary, Indiana. He married Donna Cromer on November 3, 2007 in LeClaire, Iowa.
Lee served his country in the Vietnam War in the Army. He enjoyed restoring old cars, loved music, doing construction projects with Jeff, and yard work. He enjoyed his hurricane duties and loved his job and the guys he worked with. Lee always lightened up the mood with a joke.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Christopher (Vanessa) of Colorado Springs, CO; daughters, Shelly (Joe) Sutcliffe of Palmyra, MO, Victoria Schweiger of Chicago, IL, Melody (Mark) Hunwardsen of Clarence; brothers, Paul (Barbara) of Clear Lake, IN and John of Altoona, FL; 10 grandchildren; and a great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom Schweiger; and stepson, Michael Cromer.
