Harry Robert Hegarty, age 96, of Stanwood, Iowa, died Sunday January 14, 2007, at his home. Harry was born Sept.22, 1910, in Rural Tipton to Sammuel and Sarah (Ingledew) Hegarty. Harry married Velma Achenbach on June 4, 1932. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 17 at Stanwood Union Church, Iowa, with Pastor Phil Leipold officiating. Burial will follow at Stanwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, January 16, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Harry was preceded in death by Parents, 4 sisters and 3 brothers, 2 grandsons, his sons Thomas Hegarty and Forrest Hegarty, 2 son-in laws Charles Gorman and Leo Fall, Jr and his foster son Paul Shepard. Harry was survived by wife Velma, daughters Sarah (Sally) Gorman of Cedar Rapids and Sharon Fall of Olin, daughter in-law Judith (Forrest) Hegarty of North Canton, Ohio, twelve grandchildren Colleen(Don)Power of Solon, Michael Gorman of Cedar Rapids, Francis Gorman of Chula Vista Calif, Timothy Gorman of Des Moines, Richard (Diane) Hegarty of Elberon, Robin (John) McCammant of Malcom, Laura (Jeff) Smith of St. Louis, Missouri, Shawna (Matt) Weda of Omaha, Nebraska, Harriet O 'Brine of Lisbon, Amanda Buege of Lost Nation, Kelly (John) Bazagar of Akron, Ohio, Jennifer (Antonio) Belli of Columbus, Ohio, 2 foster grandchildren Kevin Shepard of Iowa City and Kirk Shepard of Marengo, 14 Great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
