Hazel Haesemeyer, age 92, of Cottage Grove, MN (formerly of Stanwood, Iowa), beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 3, 2011 to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Hazel was born September 10, 1918. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at St. John's United Church Of Christ in Clarence, Iowa, with Reverend David Mears officiating. Burial will follow with a private interment at Stanwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday, February 7, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers. She was survived by mother to daughter Carlotta (Harvest) Williams; son Vance (Wendy); and grandmother to Julia and Elliot Haesemeyer. She is further survived by two sisters, Joan Mills and Leone Olson; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jean and Nancy. Hazel was preceded in death by husband Carl, son Brooks, son-in-law Bill, her parents, and 8 siblings.
