Helen A. Gottschalk, age 89, passed away on Tuesday June 6, 2023 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at Chapman Funeral Home on Saturday June 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ron Lashmit officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lowden Cemetery.

Helen was born September 19, 1933 at home in Tipton, Iowa to William and Sarah (Rice) Stolte. She married Robert Gottschalk November 6, 1949 in Lowden. He passed away on March 15, 2003.

Helen is survived by her son Royce (Lisa) of Lowden; daughter Becky Ackerland of Davenport; 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons Roger, Ricky, and Randy; daughter Barbara; a sister Verna Mae Rice; and a great grandson Vincent Mayfield.

Some of the things Helen enjoyed were going to garage sales and auctions, bingo, and watching her sons and grandsons race at Tipton International Speedway. She also enjoyed music and dancing. Helen had worked at the Arrow Café in Lowden and at Wabash in Tipton. She always loved being with her family and friends for cookouts and family reunions.
