Helen Hasselbusch, age 94, of Clarence, Iowa, died Sunday, September 5, 2010, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Helen was born October 28, 1915, in Clarence to Robert and Pearl (Baughman) Kelly. Helen Married Melvin Hasselbusch December 4, 1937, in her parents home in Clarence. He died in 2007. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 9, 2010, at St. John's United Church Of Christ in Clarence, Iowa, with Reverend David Mears officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 8, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Helen was a 1933 graduate of Clarence High School and attended Coe College. She was a member of St. John's Church where she had taught Sunday school and belonged to Womens' Fellowship. She also had been a 4-H leader for 10 years. She is survived by a daughter, Kay (Bill) Leighty of Tipton and son, Robert (Arlynn) Hasselbusch of Clarence; 2 grandsons: Mike (Tina) Hasselbusch of German Town Hills, Illinois, and Eric (Andrea) Hasselbusch of Lisbon; 5 great-granddaughters: Emily, Olivia, Renae, Nicole, Kaitlynn; and a sister Dorothy Emmons of Clarence. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
