Henrietta M. "Etta" Wenndt, age 87, of Wheatland, Iowa, died on January 16, 2012 at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home. Henrietta was born July 7, 1924, in Long Grove, Iowa to Emil Kroeger and Mabel (Meier) Kroeger. Henrietta married Elmer Wenndt on March 2, 1949 in Davenport, IA and they farmed near Wheatland, IA. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Friday, January 20, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, Iowa, with Pastor Victor Young officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Thursday, January 19, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for various charities, including Trinity Lutheran Church and the church cemetery. Etta was the most caring, loving, giving and unselfish person to all who knew her. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and was happiest doing things for others. Her family was the utmost important part of her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by husband Elmer of nearly 63 years; sons Doug and Ron of Wheatland; daughters Lorna (Rory) Dewell of Clarence and Carol (David) North of Round Rock, TX; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother Raymond (Joan) Kroeger of Davenport, IA; and sisters-in-law Dorothy Kroeger of Stockton and Phyllis Kroeger of Tipton. Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents, sister Irene Schult, and brothers Henry (twin), Elmer, Leroy, and Alvin Kroeger.
