Howard Fisher, age 93, of Lowden, Iowa, died February 26, 2010, at Genesis Hospital, Dewitt. Howard was born January 5, 1917, in Lowden to Homer Fisher and Caroline (Dircks) Fisher. Howard married Dorothy Boettcher on August 7, 1949, at Little Brown Church, Nashua. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Zion United Church Of Christ in Lowden, Iowa, with Reverend Barbara Muhs officiating. Burial will follow at Van Horn Cemetery in Lowden. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 2, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Howard had farmed and worked for the City of Lowden until retirement. He was a member of Zion Church and the Lowden Lions. He loved to travel. Dorothy and Howard traveled to all 50 states and Europe twice. He is survived by his wife-Dorothy; nieces and nephews Ardella (Sidney) Boots of Davenport; LaDonna Finch of Davenport; David (Linda) Fisher of Hiawatha; Robert Fisher of Lowden; Denise (Greg) Pingel of Ely; Gwen Johnson of Amarillo, Texas; Wesley Miller of Clarence; Michael (Pam) Fisher of Atlanta, Georgia; Jim (Mary) Fisher of LaJolla, California. Also surviving are many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Arthur and Milo, sister Kathleen Miller, nephews William and Harley Fisher, and niece Janet Fisher.
