Irene A. Derynck, age 87, of Clarence, Iowa, died May 17, 2010, at St. Lukes Hospital-Cedar Rapids. Irene was born November 29, 1922, in Lowden, Iowa, to Julius and Ranelda (Theesfeld) Gottschalk. Irene Married Silven Derynck November 19, 1939, at Dewitt. He died in 2001. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, May 21, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, Iowa, with Reverend Victor Young officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, May 20, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. She is survived by three sons: Robert (Sue) of Athol, Massachusetts, David (Nancy) of Cedar Rapids, Randy (Jade) of Clarence; two daughters: Deanna (Greg) Jobe of Marion and Sandy (David) Smith of Abilene, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by husband Silven and son Glen.
