Irene W. Decker, age 95 of Clarence, passed away on Monday December 8, 2014 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 12, 2014 at 11:00 A.M at St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence with Reverend David Mears officiating. Burial will follow at the Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M til service time at the church. Irene was born on January 18, 1919 in Cedar County to Henry and Marie (Edler) Meyer. She married Edwin Decker on March 23, 1940 at St. John's Parsonage in Clarence. He died in 2010. Irene loved her kitchen, garden, sewing, and family. She was a member of St. John's UCC and a former member of the women's fellowship, lend-a-hand circle, and former 4-H leader. She is survived by her son, Edwin (Karilyn) Decker of Clarence; daughter, Phyllis (Robert) Hunwardsen of Clarence; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Ibsen of Clarence; brother, Harry Meyer of Clarence; and many nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Albert and Lloyd.
