Irene L. Curry, age 79, of Dixon, Iowa, died February 20, 2011, in the Wheatland Manor Nursing Home. Irene was born December 9, 1931, in Moline, Illinois to Arthur and Mary (Kell) Young. Irene was married July 2, 1949, to Joseph Curry in Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland, Iowa, with Pastor Dell Preston officiating. Burial will follow at Dixon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 pm on Wednesday, February 23, at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Jasen Keegan, Dakota Curry, Mark Curry, and Louis Wilhelm Jr. Salena and Dakota - thank you for being there in Grandma's time of need. She enjoyed softball and bowling in her younger years. She and her friend Velma were the queen of yard sales the last few years of her life. She is survived by 3 sons, Matthew of Manchester, New Hampshire, Marty (Lynne) of Dixon, and Michael (Cheryl)of Davenport; 2 daughters: Jenean (David) Seibert of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, and Susan Wolfe of Beaverton, Oregon; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mina Fenton of Moline, Illinois and Armetta Jones of Moline, Illinois; and a brother, Raymond Young of Moline, Illinois. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph, and son Mark.\n
