Obituary

Jacob Q. Jacobsen, age 24 of Calamus, passed away suddenly on Tuesday January 25, 2022. Visitation will be held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland from 2-5 PM on Sunday January 30 with Pastor Tessa Cavey officiating. A funeral service will follow the visitation. Jacob was born September 12, 1997 in Scott county to Mike and Dana Jacobsen. He is survived by his sister Nicole of Calamus; aunt Darla (Joe Bruckman) Baxter of Wheatland; cousins Sammie Flagel, Kassidy (Jake) Jensen and their baby Luca, Jeff (Charity) Griebel and their family, and Chris (Becca) Griebel and their family; grandparents Jim and Janyce Stroyan of Davenport; and special friends Kaitlin and Nathan Yoerger and their baby Drew; and many other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents; cousin Jason Griebel; grandpa Sam Baxter; and aunt and uncle Deb and Buck Griebel. First and foremost, Jacob was a very loving person who was everybody's friend. He had a very contagious smile and always greeted you with a hug. He was a social bug and was laughing all the time. Jacob enjoyed hockey, eating tacos and steak, farming, beer and Dr. Pepper, and had a love for sunglasses and hats.
