James E. Scott, age 89, passed away on Tuesday October 1, 2013 at his home in Dixon. Private family services will be held at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland with Reverend David Mears officiating. James was born on March 26, 1924 to Jesse James and Lillian Mabel (Barnes) Scott in Keysville, Missouri. He married Elna Hagar on July 26, 1946 in Davenport. James loved fishing, card parties and dancing. He is survived by his wife, Elna Faye; sons, James Dennis(Patricia) Scott of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Paul Scott of Dixon; daughters, Donna (Loren)Snyder of Metamora, Illinois and Sheila Tyler of Bettendorf; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his parents; sister; and grandson, Brent.
