James A. "Jim" Mussig, age 74 of Tipton, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, July 24, 2023. There will be a visitation at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence on Friday, July 28 from 9:00 a.m until 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Lowden Cemetery with military rites.

Jim was born January 12, 1949 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Clarence and Elaine (Peterson) Mussig. He married Patricia Forde on December 11, 1971 in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. She passed away on November 7, 2014.

Jim is survived by his daughter Kim Mussig of Tipton; son Mike (Kristy) Mussig of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren Austin, Brendyn, and Collin Mussig; great grandchildren Dexter and Porter; sister Susie Schmalfeldt of Oxford Junction; brother Robert Mussig of California; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Patricia; and brother Richard.

Jim served his country in the Navy in Vietnam. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin on the Cedar River with his friends, fishing and talking. Jim also enjoyed going to casinos.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
