Jennie M. Rathmann, age 98, went home to be with her lord on September 16,2012. Jennie passed away at the Anamosa Care Center. Graveside services will be held at St. John's Cemetery in Clarence on Thursday September 20,2012 at 10:30 a.m.\n Born June 29,1914 in Jones County,Iowa the daughter of Sievert and Anna Christiansen Sievertsen, she married John P. Rathmann on May 1,1934 at DesMoines. He died in 1976. Jennie lived in Oxford junction since 1945 and most recently(2007)moved to the Woodland Park Assisted Living in Anamosa. Jennie was a homemaker and a farm wife. She enjoyed years as an active church member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, was a former 4-H leader and she enjoyed traveling and the letters and visits from her loyal family and friends.\n She is survived by her devoted children son James of Bettendorf and a daughter JoAnn(William)Tydings of Silver Springs, Florida and her devoted sister-in-law Carleen Sievertsen of Anamosa. She has 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons mike and John, 2 brothers and a sister.\n Jennie's family is thankful for the good care received at Jones Regional Hospital and from the Woodland Park nurses and staff members.\nMemorials may be made to St. Marks Lutheran Church or Woodland Assisted Living Center.
