Jon L. Schnede, age 62, of Deer River, Minnesota and formerly of Wheatland, Iowa, died Tuesday, September 4, 2007, as result of an accident at his home in Deer River. Jon was born November 30, 1944, in Davenport, Iowa to Virgil and Doris (Penningroth) Schnede. Jon was a retired electrician. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Sunday, September 9, 2007, at Pine Hill Cemetery in Wheatland, Iowa. A luncheon for family and friends will follow at Wheatland Community Hall after the graveside service. No visitation is scheduled. Jon is survived by his daughter Jody Schnede Henning of Lowden; son Jamie Schnede of Tampa, Florida; 3 grandchildren; brothers Jan Schnede of Calamus and Gary Hoker of Davenport; and sister Sheryl Dexter of Lost Nation. Jon was preceded in death by his father, mother and step mother Verona Hoker and two of his brothers Danny Schnede and Paul Hoker.
