Junior C. Homrighausen, age 93 of Lowden, passed away on Wednesday September 28, 2016 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday October 3, 2016 at 10:30 A.M at Faith Lutheran Church in Calamus with Reverend Bill Runaas officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Wheatland. Visitation will be held on Sunday October 2 from 4-6 PM at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. Junior was born on January 13, 1923 to Christian L. and Henrietta (Horstmann) Homrighausen in Clinton County, Iowa. He married Louise Danielsen on June 27, 1943 in Buena Vista, Iowa. She died August 26, 2014. Junior loved music and played the accordion for nursing homes. He was a big Cubs and Bulls fan, loved farming, wildlife, fishing, hunting, and basically everything outdoors. He also enjoyed playing cards. Junior is survived by his daughters, Nancy (Dan) Nietfeldt of Wheatland and Neva (Jerome) Niedorf of Las Vegas, NV; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Peggy; wife; and sister, Betty Schwartz. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Clarence Assisted Living.
