Karen S. Stuhr, 64, of Lowden, Iowa died Sunday, February 5,2006 at home of a sudden illness. Karen S. Stuhr was born on July 26, 1941 in Scott County, Iowa to Wallace Dircks and Evetta Hormann. Karen Stuhr married Robert Stuhr August 16, 1959 at Lowden, Iowa. He died in 1997. Karen and her husband had managed the 3/30 Country Club in Lowden for 4 years. She had worked as a Librarian aid for North Cedar elementary School for several years and most recently before retirement had worked at the Clarence Nursing Home. Visitation is from 3:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland Iowa. The funeral service will be held at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. Reverend Barbara Muhs will be officiating. Burial will be at Massillon Cemetery in Massillon, Iowa. Karen Stuhr is survived by a son, Todd (Dana) of Parkview, daughters Shelley (Kevin) Van Dorin of Mt. Pleasant and Tina (Scott) Kleppe of Solon; sister, Judy Proesch of Lowden and brother Fred (Darlene) Dircks of Wheatland. Also surviving are 6 granchildren and 2 stepgrandchildren. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a grandson. Memorials can be made to Zion United church of Christ or Camp Courageous of Iowa.
