Kathryn Jo Goldsmith-Fortner, age 54 of Cosby, TN and formerly of Coatesville, IN and Clarence, IA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday September 25, 2023 at North Knoxville Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Services are pending at this time.

Kathy was born on September 25, 1969 to Harold and Patsy (Pat) Goldsmith. She went to Lincoln Community School of Stanwood and Mechanicsville. Furthering her education, she attended and graduated from Hamilton Business School in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Most of her adult life, Kathy lived in the Coatesville, Indiana area. This is where she met and married Danny Lynn Fortner, who preceded her in death on Sunday February 9, 2020. After his passing, she decided to fulfill a dream of theirs and moved to Tennessee.

Kathy had a contagious laugh. She enjoyed people, motorcycles, dogs and sunflowers. Kathy loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons Michael (Tabitha) Drury and Matthew (Mary) Capalla of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren Aiden, Victoria, Olivia, and Bristol Drury and Maverick, Mason, JoEllen and Brentley Capalla; sister Pamela Goldsmith; niece Brittany (Jace) Ahrendsen; and great niece and nephew Raeleigh and Brooks Ahrendsen.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She will be missed but will always be with us.
