Kathryn Ann Decker Wilson, age 82 of Pella, passed away on Monday October 6, 2025 at The Cottages in Pella. Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 9 at 2:30 PM at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence with Karmen Jamison officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Dayton Valley Cemetery.

Kathryn was born August 18, 1943 at the Century family farmhouse north of Clarence, Iowa to Robert and Anita (Hunwardsen) Decker, to which 4 children were born: Robert, Richard, Kathryn, and Helen.

She attended Clarence Community School, and after graduation attended the Iowa City Commercial College. After college, she secured a job in Cedar Rapids with Iowa Electric Light & Power Co., where she worked for two years.

Kathryn met the love of her life, Richard Wilson, while he was working his way through college. She married Richard on August 16, 1964. Richard and Kathryn moved to Lenox where he practiced law for 50 years, and she tended to their home and children. After Richard's retirement, they moved to Pella to be closer to family and spent 11 years there.

Kathryn was a church organist throughout her life, first in Clarence at the Methodist Church during high school then later in Lenox at the United Methodist Church. She was also a volunteer at the Care Center Meals on Wheels and was active in bridge card clubs.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with friends. She received much joy seeing her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard; her parents Robert and Anita Decker; brothers Robert and Richard Decker; brothers-in-law Reggie Jennings, Daryl Wilson, and David Hill; and sister-in-law Judy Wilson.

Those left to cherish her memories are her two daughters and their families: Christine Wilson and her children Cody (Shasta) Wood and their children Logan and Matthew, and Travis (Delaney Wildman) Wood; Teresa (Robert) Bradley and their children Colton (Amy Legler), Kiara (Will) Schneider, and Caroline (Colby Lange) Bradley; and sister Helen Jennings.
