Kenneth E. Mooney, age 70 of Springville, passed away at his home on Tuesday May 13, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Monday May 19, 2014 at 12:00 P.M at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence with Reverend David Mears officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-5 P.M on Sunday May 18, 2014 at Chapman's in Clarence. Kenneth was born on November 17, 1943 to Gordon and Vera (Fay) Mooney in Dexter, Iowa. He married Barbara Debner on May 19, 1979 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Kenneth liked to hunt, fish and also liked using black powder guns. He is survived by wife, Barbara; sons, Jason (Kristina) Mooney of Springville, and Jeff, Craig and Dan Werling, all of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Rob Debner of Clarence; sister-in-law, Joann DeMoss of Hiawatha; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Kenneth was preceded in death by parents; son, Brett; and brother-in-law, Jim Debner. The family would like to thank Unity Point Hospice for their care and support.
