Kimberly S. "Kim" Potter, age 40 of Mechanicsville, passed away suddenly on Saturday October 2, 2021 at Unity Point St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A celebration of life will be held from 10-12 AM at the Mechanicsville Memorial Building on Saturday October 9 with a lunch to follow. A private graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Kim was born September 21, 1981 in Cedar Rapids to Rudolph "Rudy" Huffman and Inis Svoboda. She married Chris Potter on June 21, 2008 in Mechanicsville.
Kim is survived by her husband Chris; daughter Aleah at home; step - daughter Alexis Potter from North Liberty; sister Jennifer (Steven) Gaunt of Tipton; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kim was a very loving wife, mother, and the best sister that always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, board games, movies, and Green Day music. She was a girl scout leader and was the leader of the SPRC committee for Faith UCC Methodist Church in Mechanicsville. She was a huge Harry Potter fan, liked the color red, and would do anything for anybody at any time.
