Lara L. Burkhead, age 50 of Muscatine, passed away at her home on Wednesday October 12, 2022. There will be a visitation to celebrate Lara on Saturday October 22 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. The family requests that casual attire be worn.

Lara was born February 8, 1972 in Muscatine, Iowa to Robert and Susan (Sheetz) Gust. She married Doug Burkhead on September 14, 1996 in Wilton.

Survivors include her husband; 2 sisters Connie (Dale) Mechler of Algona, Iowa, and Diane (Tom) Long of Cedar Rapids; her father of Algona and formerly of Wilton; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Lara enjoyed shopping and going on vacations with her 3 best friends. She was a very independent person, a good cook, and loved her pets.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Doug at 1737 Ward Avenue Muscatine, Iowa 52761 to be dispersed to the Mayo Clinic and the Pancreatic Cancer Society.
