Larry L. Behne, age 74, died Monday January 23, 2016 at Wheatland Manor nursing home. Funeral services will be held at the Christian Free Lutheran Church in Wheatland on Saturday January 28, 2016 at 10:30 A.M with Pastor Eric Swenson officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 4-7 P.M on Friday. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Calamus.
Larry was born on November 25, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa to Louie and Laura (Miller) Behne. He married Janice Dickel on January 4, 1964 in Wheatland.
He enjoyed taking trips with his wife, Janice, fishing with his grandchildren, and drag racing was also a loved hobby. Among all the important things in his life, Jesus Christ was the most important. In 1974 he prayed and asked Jesus Christ into his heart and his life was changed forever. Through the power of God, he was healed of alcohol and drug addiction. His love of God, his family, and friends was evident in his life.
He was among the charter members of the Christian Free Lutheran Church in Wheatland, and also served as chairman for several years. He served on the Board of Trustees of the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations and for their school's corporation for many years, in Plymouth, Minnesota.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; sons, Rick Behne of Rock Island, IL and Ryan (Kellie) of Elk River, MN; daughters, Renee (Nathan) Forster of Hudson, WI and Rochelle Behne of St. Paul, MN; grandchildren, Tyler, Brenna, Hadley, and Claire Forster; and Annah, Carter, and Parker Behne; brothers, Lyle (Donna) Behne of Milan, IL and John "Steven" (Michelle) Morahn of Carbon, IN; and sisters, Geraldine Schutt of DeWitt, Vicki (Terry) Anderson of Wausau, WI, and Becky Whitetaker of Davenport.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Orville, Leo, Lester, and Gerold "Bud"; and sisters, Marvel Hamann and Gladys Morahn.
