Obituary

Larry R. (Pork) Biddle, age 78, passed away suddenly on Monday November 16, 2020 at the DeWitt Hospital. Graveside services will be on Thursday November 19, 2020 at Inland Cemetery, Bennett, at 1:30 PM. Larry was born June 27, 1942 to Charles A. and Helen Koch Biddle in Wheatland, Iowa. He married Eileen Kleppe on March 6, 1965 at Peace United Church of Christ in Bennett. She passed away on November 11, 1993. He married Barbara Clark on December 8, 2007 in Toronto, Iowa. Pork is survived by his wife Barb; children Virgil Biddle of Wheatland, Christine (Dirk) Vos of Missouri, Jaime (Jack) Kalb of Peosta, Jonica (Andy) Ries of Lowden, Mary Ann (David) Booher of Maquoketa; grandchildren Madison, McKenna, and Macy Kalb, Kaycie and Mollie Ries, Carissa Vos, and Angella and Chloe Booher; some great-grandchildren; brother Buck Biddle of Wheatland; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Linda (Mark) Davis of Wheatland, Jim (Marsha) Rorick of Big Rock, Debra Fish of Lowden, Randy (Debbie) Fish of LeClaire, Dave (Tammy) Scheper of Calamus, Patty Gasper of Grand Mound, Stacy (Joe Morrissey) Iams of Calamus, and Eric Gasper of Calamus; special niece Jodie Snowbarger of Toronto; and also nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Eileen; brother Eugene Biddle; grandson Timothy Vos; and Skippy, his Donkey. Pork went to school in Lost Nation and enlisted in the Army on February 17, 1960 at the age of 17. He was honorably discharged on February 15, 1963. He was a member of the Calamus American Legion Post 466. Pork started working at McLaughlin Body Company in Moline on April 1,1963 and retired there after 39 ½ years. He loved horses and even though he never owned a bicycle, he got his first horse at the age of 3. In his younger years, he loved to play cards and dice. After retirement, Pork could be seen traveling the roads in Clinton and Cedar Counties in his beloved white Ford truck, stopping to visit with friends and enjoy a Pabst Blue Ribbon at various local establishments.
