Obituary

Larry F. Stolte, age 82, died Wednesday October 3, 2012 at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services will be Monday October 8, 2012 at Trinity lutheran Church in Lowden at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Victor Young officiating. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence on Sunday. Larry was born January 20, 1930 in Cedar County,Iowa to Emil and Emma Meier Stolte. He married Virjean Mowry on August 21, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden.\n Survivors include sons Shawn(Heidi)of Milwaukee,Wisconsin and Stan(Susan)of Las Vegas,Nevada;daughter Sherri(Michael Kizzee)Stolte of San Diego,California; daughter-in-law Lisa Stolte of Bettendorf; 5 grandchildren Taylor, Nathan, Jacoby, Alli, Abbi and sister Luverne(Bob)Fiala of Santa Barbara,California.\n Larry was a Marine Veteran serving in the Korean War and a member of the Lowden American Legion. He was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church serving on many committees and organizations along with singing in the men's choir. He was a member of the Lowden memorial park board, managed the Lowden Indees baseball team for 32 years and also was a past member of the Lowden and Clarence-Lowden school board. He enjoyed his family and grandkids, especially watching his grandson play baseball. Larry drove school bus for a number of years and he enjoyed all sports. Faith and Family were the 2 most important things in Larry's life.\n Larry was preceeded in death by his parents; 2 sons Scott and Stacey; 4 sisters and a brother.\n Memorials may be directed to the Lowden Memorial Park, Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Courageous or the charity of choice.
