Larry L. Frantz, age 68, of Clarence, Iowa, died Sunday October 18, 2009, at St. Lukes Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Larry was born January 4, 1941, to Paul Frantz and Janet Thompson. He married Alberta Johnson September 2, 1962, at Humeston, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at St. John's United Church Of Christ in Clarence, Iowa, with Reverend David Mears officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Cemetery, Russell, Iowa, Thursday at 11:30 A.M. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 20, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Larry worked as credit manager for the Clarence Co-operative from 1988 till retirement in 2001. He had been a school bus driver for North Cedar Schools for 5 years, and volunteered as a driver for Clarence ambulance for several years. Larry was a former Clarence City Council member, a member of St. John's Church, and a member of the Lions. Larry loved his family and enjoyed camping and fishing. Larry is survived by his wife Alberta; son Gary of Denver Colorado; daughter Sherry (Larry) Bennett of DeSota, Iowa; 2 grandchildren, Joshua and Michael Bennett; and a brother Darryl (Janet) of Alta, Iowa. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard.
