Larry G. Doermann, age 65, of Clarence, Iowa, died at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids on June 9, 2011. Larry was born December 9, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, IA to Harold Doermann and Mildred (Schmidt) Doermann. Larry married Elda Kruckenberg on June 19, 1982 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, June 13, 2011, at St. John's United Church Of Christ in Clarence, Iowa, with Rev. David Mears officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, June 12, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Honorary pallbearers are all of his nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Elon Miller, Mark Betts, Mark Myers, Paul Rearick, Ben Anderson, and Jayson Wallace. Larry was a church member and a former council member. He liked gardening, fishing and camping. Larry liked to tease people while having a good sense of humor. He is survived by wife Elda of Clarence; sisters Karen Doermann of Cedar Rapids, Sheryl (Mike) Koch of Lisbon, and Diane (Wayne) Betts of Mechanicsville; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Leonard Kruckenberg of Lowden; and sisters-in-law Lois (Wes) Rearick of Sterling Heights, MI, and Donna Myers of Wilton. Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
