LaVerne W. King Jr., age 74 of Clarence, passed away on Sunday March 28, 2021 at St. Luke's Unity Point Hospice in Cedar Rapids. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Thursday April 1 at 1:30 P.M at Red Oak Cemetery in rural Tipton with Pastor Ron Lashmit officiating. LaVerne was born on December 17, 1946 to LaVerne Sr. and Anna Marie (McCabe) King in Davenport, Iowa. LaVerne enjoyed fishing, working on small engines, mini-rod tractor pulling, and playing golf. He was a very devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his son Richard (Tammy) of Clarence; grandchildren Becky, Ralissa, Rachel, Anthony, Connie, and Elaine; brothers Sanford King of Olin, Allan King of Tipton, Roger King of DeWitt, and Tom King of Dixon; and sister Bonnie Clausen of Tipton.
