Obituary

Laverne R. Bouchaute, 85, of Wheatland, passed away Saturday, November 17th, 2012 at her home. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 24th at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Toronto, IA, with Reverend William Kneemiller officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Big Rock, IA. Visitation will be Friday, November 23rd from 3:00-7:00 P.M. at Chapman Funeral Home, Wheatland, IA.\n Laverne was born June 30th, 1927 to Henry and Gertrude (Becker) Etscheidt near Watkins, IA. She married Albert Bouchaute February 10th, 1955 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Watkins. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband near Lowden, Iowa for 20 years. They moved to Wheatland in 1975 where she worked as a waitress at Mac's Triangle and Wapsi Oaks Country Club for several years. She enjoyed cooking and was an excellent baker. Her card club, coffee klutches and love of cats meant a lot to her. She was artistic, creative and loved to make crafts. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.\n Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 57 years, Albert; daughters Judie(Dave)Carson and Janis(Jan)Muhl of Wheatland; son John(Nancy)Bouchaute of Maquoketa; granddaughters Jennifer(Matt)Heitland of Bainbridge Island,WA. and Jessica Muhl and fiancee Luke Shelton of Grand Mound; step grandchildren Dennis(Leigh)Carson and Daryl(Julie)Carson of Cedar Rapids and Kim(Marty)Clark of Maquoketa.\n She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Virginia Etscheidt of Cedar Rapids, IA; and a sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Clarence Thoman of Norway, IA.
