Leila Louise Dittmer, age 93 of Wheatland, passed away on Thursday July 22, 2021 at Wheatland Manor. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 27 at 11:00 A.M at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland with Pastor Tessa Cavey officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until service time at the church. A private family burial will be held at St. Paul's Cemetery.
Leila was born on April 26, 1928 to Richard and Verna (Illian) Puck in Durant, Iowa. She married Eugene Dittmer on April 30, 1949 in Davenport. He passed away on August 6, 1999.
Leila was a homemaker, had worked at Wheatland Manor in the kitchen, and for Chapman Funeral Home since 1955. She enjoyed baking, sending greeting cards, and spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her children Dale (Deb) of McKinney, TX, William (Lori) of Lowden, IA, Jerry (Cindy) of Lantana, TX, and Lyndi (James Perry) of Corrales, NM; grandchildren Drew, Devon, Marx, Alex, Lauren Emerson, Max, Cassandra, David Perry and Denise Bowman; 12 great grandchildren; and sister Jean Kelding of Hartsburg, MO.
Leila was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gene; grandson Trent; and sisters Eileen, Veronna, Marlene, and Eunice.
