Leo Fisher, age 93, of Clarence, Iowa, died on Friday, January 7, 2011, at St. Lukes Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Leo was born September 19, 1917, near Clarence to Frank Fisher and Elizabeth (Dettmann) Fisher. Leo married Wilma Tittle, on August 27, 1940, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa.
Private Services will be held at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, Iowa. Burial will follow at Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 11, at the Funeral Home.
Leo attended Prairie Flower country school for eight years and in 1935 graduated from Stanwood High School. He farmed in Cedar County for twenty-seven years. During that time he was township assessor, worked the the A.S.C., and moved to Clarence in 1967. He worked for the highway department for fifteen years which time he and his wife were in the photography business. He was a long-time member of the Cedar Church of the Brethren, and served as treasurer for thirty-five years.
He is survived by his wife Wilma; son- Allen and his wife Bonnie; one step-grandson, granddaughter, two great grandchildren, a nephew, and family, and cousins.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents and brother Frank Fisher, Jr.
