Leona Banks, age 94, of Clarence, Iowa, died at Clarence Nursing Home on July 7, 2010. Leona was born April 29, 1916, in Clarence to Dietrick and Helen (Tonne) Meier. Leona married William Banks September 14, 1963, at Clarence. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, July 12, 2010, at St. John's United Church Of Christ in Clarence, Iowa, with Reverend David Mears officiating. Burial will follow at Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until the service time on Monday, July 12, at Chapman Funerel Home. Leona was a Clarence High School graduate and then attended A.I.C. She worked as an insurance secretary for 21 years. She then helped her husband at Bank's Radio and T.V. in Clarence. She is survived by a sister-in-law June Rowser of Clarence, nieces, a nephew, and cousins. Leona was preceded in death by parents, husband, a brother and a sister.
