LeRoy F. Martens, age 77 of Lowden, passed away on Sunday February 23, 2014 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 27, 2014 at 10:30 A.M at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden with Reverend Victor Young officiating. Burial will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. LeRoy was born on November 22, 1936 to Albert and Frieda (Kroemer) Martens in Lowden, Iowa. As an adult LeRoy was a teacher and also a farmer. He was active in men's & mixed choir at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, the Lutheran laymen's league, and held various offices at the church. He is survived by his sister, Alberta of Lowden. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents.
