Leroy C. Sander, age 94 of Tipton, passed away on Sunday April 26, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at 10:30 A.M at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence with Janel Wenndt officiating. Burial will follow at the Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M until service time. Leroy was born on September 16, 1920 to William H. and Ella A. (Lunow) Sander in Cedar County. He married Betty Jane Boots on June 10, 1942. She died August 17, 1998. Leroy was a faithful Hardee's attendee, and loved mowing lawn and spending time with his grandkids. He is survived by his daughter, Leah Jo (Fred) Mulling of Mason City; son-in-law, Roland Zimmerman of Tipton; 9 grandchildren, Janel (Kirk) Wenndt, Rodney Zimmerman, Tanya (Ben) Sterner, Carey King, Doug Sander, Tiffany Coats, Charity Stucker, Christopher Sander, and Tom Sander; 18 great grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and brother, Everette Sander of Tipton. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Jane; daughters, Angel Lee, Donna, and Sharon; and son, Douglas.
