Obituary

Lisa Villeneuve, age 57 of Lowden, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Friday, December 1, 2023. There will be a visitation at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence on Friday, December 8 from 4-6 PM. Burial will be in the Rock Island Arsenal at a later date.

Lisa was born October 15, 1966 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to William and Goldie (Craft) Leferink. She married Brett Villeneuve in May of 1986 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Left behind to carry on her memory are her husband Brett Villeneuve, daughters Jessica Knebel, Abby Hansen, son-in-law Adam Hansen, granddaughter Madison Knebel, grandsons Owen and Otis Hansen, sister Deb Palen, brother-in-law Nick Palen, brother Bill Leferink and sister-in-law Lolly Leferink.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Lisa had a desire to see what the world had to offer. Upon completing her education at Prairie High School, Lisa boldly enlisted in the Army Reserves. It was here she met her soulmate, Brett Villeneuve. From the moment their eyes met, a love story began that would inspire and touch the hearts of all who knew them — a love that never wavered. They nurtured each other's growth, providing a beacon of true love for their daughters, Jessica and Abby, to admire daily. For Lisa her family meant the world to her, and she was everything to them. Becoming Grammy to Madison, Owen and Otis was her greatest joy. She loved to watch her grandkids sing, dance and run around being silly. Lisa was a truly beautiful soul that lit up the room she was in. Her creativity and imaginative thinking came through in her sewing, quilting and crochet work. She loved to spend time in her garden with her husband by her side. No one was ready to lose this wonderful woman, but there was never going to be enough time with her.
