Lois M. Bevan, age 86 of Wheatland, passed away on Saturday July 18, 2015 at Genesis West Medical Center in Davenport. Private family graveside services will be held. Visitation will be held on Thursday July 23, 2015 from 5-7 P.M at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. Lois was born on February 5, 1929 to Robert and Anna (Gregory) Badgley in Philadelphia, PA. She was married to Richard Bevan on July 6, 1972 in Moline, Ill. by Richard's father. Lois was an avid reader, loved to crochete, was a great cook and enjoyed her yard, flowers and music. She loved her family and friends and also was a great friend to many people. Lois was a member of Mensa and was a supervisor at the Rock Island, Il. Post Office before becoming the postmaster at Dixon, IA. for 14 years. She is survived by her husband, Richard; brother, Robert (Joan) Badgley, Jr. of Seaville, N.J; sister, Gwynne Sulzbach of Manassas, VA.; many nieces and nephews; extended family, Chuck (Kari) Jones of Wheatland and grandson, Zachary Jones; and close friends, Mike (Judy) Dunn of Wheatland. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Robert Badgley III.
