Lois was born January 7, 1932, in Wheatland, Iowa, to Fred and Elizabeth (Wiedenhoff) Busch and lived most of her adult life with her husband, Dale, in Lowden, Iowa, where she built a home, raised her family, and formed lasting friendships. She married Dale Jensen on June 26, 1949, in Lost Nation. He passed away on July 30, 1989. Lois then married Donald Latare July 12, 2003, in Nashua at the Little Brown Church. Don passed away October 16, 2012.
Survivors include her children Alan (Laurie) Jensen of Ames, Judy Jensen Tucker of Oskaloosa, and Mark (Mary) Jensen of Houston, TX; grandchildren Aaron Thies, Joshua Thies, Philip Jensen, Andrew Jensen, Stefan Jensen, Alysia Grey, Kyle Williams, Rebecca Goodwin, and Amanda Jensen; 7 great grandchildren; and 2 stepdaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Sue Isaacson; son-in-law Jim Isaacson; son-in-law Bob Tucker; sisters Nona Scheper and Betty Schau; and brothers George and Roger Busch; and granddaughter Grace Jensen.
While raising her family alongside her husband Dale, Lois also worked at American Trust and Savings Bank in Lowden, balancing her career with her deep commitment to her home and children. She was known as a fastidious homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. Known affectionately as a true card shark, Lois delighted in the challenge of a good hand and the camaraderie that came with a well-played game. Her sharp mind also found pleasure in jigsaw puzzles and dominoes, which she approached with patience and determination. She found comfort and expression in quilting and crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that reflected both her care and her craftsmanship. A devoted sports fan, Lois rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her favorite college basketball teams or enjoy a good baseball game. Lois also embraced travelling to many parts of the US to visit family and friends. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and generosity, where her love of cooking shone through in every meal she prepared.
Lois was a longtime resident of Grand Haven Retirement Community and later a resident of Northridge Village in Ames, Iowa, where she enjoyed community and companionship in her later years.
