Lois M. Stock, age 81 of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Saturday February 21, 2015 surrounded by her family at Cottage Grove Place in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 25, 2015 at 10:30 A.M at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids with Reverend Lloyd Brockmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at the Clarence Cemetery following the luncheon at the church. Visiation will be held one hour prior to the service. Lois was born to Howard W. and Helen (Parker) McClellan on April 28, 1933 in Clarence. She married John W. Stock on December 27, 1953 at the Clarence United Methodist Church. He died on March 2, 2014. Lois graduated from Clarence High School in 1951 and attended the Iowa State teachers college. She taught in the Cedar Rapids schools from 1953-1963 and later returned to the profession she loved as a substitute teacher. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the Abigail-Anna Circle. She cherished her family and friends. She is survived by her son, David (Lori) Stock of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Julie (Rodney) Kress of Clarence; grandchildren, Evan and Jason Stock and Logan and Taylor Kress; and nieces DeAnn Filkins of Earlham and Susan (Michael) Hope of Waukee. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband John, and sister, Rosalyn Dawson.
