Lorraine Mensing, age 85, of Lowden, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home. Lorraine was born September 8, 1922, in Cook County, Illinois to Frank and Anna (Phillips) Cada. Lorraine married Leon Mensing on August 8, 1944 in Chicago; he died in 1999. There will be no visitation or services. Lorraine's body was cremated with inurnment at a later date in Lowden Cemetery. Lorraine was a former teacher and had taught in the Lowden Schools. There are no immediate survivors. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Van, and three brothers.
