Louis L. Miller, 72, of Lowden, Iowa, died Saturday, August 18, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence, Iowa, with Ron Lashmit officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Burial will be at a later date. Louis was born September 7, 1939, in Davenport, a son of Henry and Eula (Dimmick) Miller.\nHe married Janice Peters in Davenport in 1959. She died October 7, 2009. Louis enjoyed woodworking and home improvement projects. He is survived by three sons, Brett (Malanie) of Lowden; Brian (Christie) of Calamus, Iowa; and Brad (Brenda) of Lowden; grandchildren, Dustin, Melissa, Sarah, Lisa, Travis, Dalton, Taylor and Brady; one step-grandchild, Vanessa; one great-grandchild; one step-great-grandchild; brother, Chuck (Irene) of Hooppole, Ill.; his very special friend, Diane Rielly; and his good friend, Delores Arends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
