Luella L. Hein, 94, of Tipton, Iowa died Saturday, November 22, 2008, at Crestview Nursing Home in West Branch, Iowa. Luella was born on December 31, 1913, to Edward and Amanda (Alpen) Hamann. Luella married Raymond Hein on December 30, 1945, in Wilton. Raymond died on October 19, 1982. Luella was active in Tipton Garden Club and loved gardening. She had been a 4H leader for many years and active in Farm Bureau Women's Activities. She was also a huge Hawkeye fan. Funeral services for Luella Hein will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 11:00am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Standwood, Iowa, with Reverend Timothy Jones officiating. Burial in Rochester Cemetery in Rochester, Iowa will follow. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Monday, November 24, 2008 at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, Iowa. Luella is survived by her sons George (Jeanne) of Tipton and Michael (Rhonda) of Madison, Wisconsin; daughter Barbara (Doug) Collins of Delmar, Iowa; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and a brother Harold Hamann of Prairie Village, Kansas. Luella was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and a sister.
