Luetta L. Meier, age 82, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home in Wheatland, Iowa. Luetta was born July 7, 1926, in Lowden, Iowa, to Emil an Ella (Kahl) Licht. Luetta married Raymond Meier December 2, 1945, in Lowden.
Luetta and Ray retired from farming and worked at the 3/30 Golf and Country Club in Lowden for 22 years. While there they worked in the clubhouse and as greenskeepers. After retiring from the country club they enjoyed being greeters at Wal-Mart in Clinton for 4 and a half years.
Funeral services for Luetta Meier will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, with Reverend Victor Young officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Monday, June 1, 2009 at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland.
Luetta is survived by her husband Raymond; daughters Linda Pasvogel of Fenton, Illinois and Lorna (Norman) Seifert of Long Grove, Iowa; sons Roger of Carlisle, Iowa and Russ (Stephanie) of Grand Mound; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sister Eileen Buttleman of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; and brother Wesley Licht of McFarland, Wisconsin.
Luetta was preceded in death by her parents.
