Margarethe M. Miller, age 97, passed away on Saturday December 9, 2023 at the Clarence Nursing Home. A memorial service will be held at the Clarence United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 14 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Theodora Okine officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am. until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Clarence Cemetery.

Margarethe was born December 4, 1926 in Pellworm, Germany to Lorenz and Luise (Friederike) Clausen. She married Clarence "Bud" Miller on November 22,1961 in Clinton. He passed away March 20, 2009.

Survivors include her son Al (Sandy) of Clarence; daughters Judy (Steve) Curley of Atalissa and Luise (Don) Jones of Summerville, SC; 8 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and her sister Marie of Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a grandson.

Margarethe moved to Iowa by herself from Germany in 1954. She was a lifelong farm wife who enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, working in her large garden, and cooking that she was excellent at.
