Marie M. Arends, age 89 of Clarence, passed away on Sunday November 3, 2013 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 7, 2013 at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence at 1:00 PM with Reverend Allen Christopherson officiating. Burial will follow at the Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time. Marie was born on May 3, 1924 to George and Malena (Behrends) Feckers in Parkerbury, Iowa. She married Dick Arends on June 5, 1942. He died on April 22, 1991. Marie enjoyed her grand & great grandkids immensely. She was a gracious lady and enjoyed the scripture. She is survived by two sons, DeWayne (Lucy) Arends of Oxford Junction and Ray (Kaye) Arends of Lakebay, Washington; daughter, Delores Griffith of Lowden; granddaughters, Dawn (Doug) Muench of Clarence, Debra (Jeff) Wenndt of Lowden, Deanna (Terry) Taylor of Lisbon, and Tina Marie of Federal Way, Washington; great granddaughters, Rebecca (Rex) Hulme, Jenel Wenndt, Keegan Meyer, and Brandon, Breyen, and Keenan Walch; great-great grandchildren, Tyler, Ryker, and Isabella Hulme; and brother, Fred (Minnie) Feckers of Clarksville, Iowa. Marie was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers; three sisters; and a granddaughter. The family would like to thank the Clarence Nursing Home for the wonderful care she received while she was there.
