Marilyn K. Remington, age 71, of Clarence, IA, died on December 31, 2011 at Monticello Nursing and Rehab Center. Marilyn was born August 29, 1940, in Marquette, IA to Harlan Martens and Eva (Koss) Martens. Marilyn married Jim Remington on February 5, 1965 in Rock Island. Memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, with Pastor Darin Ulmer officiating. Inurnment will follow at Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until service time on Wednesday, January 4, 2012. She was a past member of the Eagles Club. She is survived by sons Mark LeClere of Cedar Rapids and Jeff (Patricia) Remington of Dewitt, IA; 1 granddaughter and 1 grandson; brothers Gary (Kathie) Martens of Robins, IA, and Dennis (Nancy) Martens of Cedar Rapids, IA; and nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jim, who died in October 1, 1998.
